2008 Olympics Activities
Vincent H.S. Lo Named Torch Bearer
As an “Honorary Citizen” of Shanghai who has made tremendous contributions to the city, Mr. Vincent H.S. Lo was named an Olympics torch bearer in Shanghai. It was especially meaningful that Mr. Lo completed his relay at the Xintiandi area built by himself. Mr. Lo said that he was very honored and proud to become a torch bearer in Shanghai. He also placed strong emphasis on the activity. To ensure successful completion of the torch relay, Mr. Lo started preparation early, including building up physical power.
At 8:20 in the morning of 23 May, Mr. Lo’s Olympics frame was lit, kicking off the first leg of the torch relay in Luwan District. After the solemn Olympic frame was lit, Mr. Lo ran on the route that belonged to him as well as all Shui On members. With the torch held high in his hand, Mr. Lo boasted a robust physique and determined paces, leading the frame guards towards the next stop. He frequently waved his left hand, smiled to the cheering crowds, and therefore won the enthusiastic response of the spectators. For the Olympics supporters and reporters watching the torch relay along the route, the brilliant spirit of Mr. Lo left a deep impression and made the atmosphere particularly exciting. After the relay that day, Mr. Lo thanked all staff members for witnessing and supporting the torch relay at the doorstep of our “home”, and pledged to lead Shui On towards the future with equally firm belief and paces.

Support 2008 Olympics Day
On 23 May, around 250 colleagues dressed in 2008 Olympics T-shirts gathered along the torch relay route at Xintiandi. They cheered excitedly as Mr. Lo ran past Taicang Road, witnessing this solemn and historic moment. Staff members who could not join the cheering team also wore Olympic T-shirts that day to show their support and anticipation of the 2008 Olympics.
