Shui On Land Announces 2007 Annual Results and Sustains Strategic Growth
Shui On Land Limited announced its 2007 annual results on 17 April. For the year ended 31 December 2007, profit attributable to shareholders amounted to RMB 2,462 million, up 115% from the previous year. The company had eight development projects in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Wuhan, Dalian and Foshan. Total landbank increased 56% to 13.1 million square meters of gross floor area.
Commenting on the Group’s robust results, Mr. Vincent H.S. Lo, Chairman of Shui On Land, said, “2007 was a fruitful year for the Company. Shui On Land Awarded as a “2007 BUILDING CHINA‧HIGHLIGHTS OF PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE”
On 22 March, Shui On Land Limited was named “2007 BUILDING CHINA‧HIGHLIGHTS OF PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE” in the HIGHLIGHTS of BUILDING CHINA 2007 by the Time + Architecture magazine, and was commended as the “discoverer of Chinese cities’ innovative value” by the organizers.
According to the HIGHLIGHTS of BUILDING CHINA 2007, “Shui On Group, as the creator of the Xintiandi model, focuses on city-core redevelopment projects. The company takes an innovative, visionary and unique approach to master planning in its urban mixed-use redevelopment projects, which incorporate local historical and cultural characteristics, thus livening up the cities and creating charm and value for the cities.”
The assessment was organised by the Time + Architecture magazine published by College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University. From the perspectives of the media and experts, the assessment focuses on seven areas in China’s architectural industry and academia in 2007: namely the most influential news, incidents, academic publications, periodicals and thesis, people, designs and organisations. Only four property development institutes were awarded in the whole country.

Show flats of Casa Lakeville ready for visit
On 12 April, show flats of Lakeville Phase 3, or Casa Lakeville, which is situated just south of Xintiandi, officially opened and attracted many visitors. The show flats, located at Tower 1 and Tower 2, include three decorated units in different styles and two standard units, which measure from 139 to 324 square metres. In the show flats, different materials are adopted to create different visual layers, and brand name furniture and houseware are used to reflect owners’ tastes. Subtle colors in decoration also create an elegant ambience and quality lifestyle.
Casa Lakeville, part of Shui On Land’s Taipingqiao redevelopment project, has a land area of approximately 23,975 square metres and gross floor area of approximately 140,000 square metres, of which 80,400 square metres are to be developed into residential units in two stages. Stage 1 will feature four towers with 334 two- to four-bedroom units, measuring from 90 to 430 square metres. This stage is expected to be for sale in the second quarter of 2008. Stage 2 will include seven towers, with a luxurious residents’ club house and 140 two- to three-bedroom residential units, measuring from 120 to 230 square metres. Towers in stage 2 are expected to be completed by the end of 2009.
