Inauguration of Foshan Lingnan Tiandi project

On February 28, Shui On Land (SOL) held the inauguration ceremony of Foshan Lingnan Tiandi, an integrated redevelopment project at the Chancheng District of Foshan City, Guangdong province. Mr. Lin Yuanhe, Party Secretary of Foshan and Mr. Vincent H.S. Lo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SOL presided at the ceremony. About 250 people including government leaders of Foshan City and Tancheng District, senior management and business partners and the media were present.

Mr. Lo at the ceremony expressed full confidence in the future economic and cultural development in Foshan. “We are committed to leverage our strengths and expertise with the introduction of world-class urban planning and the application of our management experience in city rejuvenation and the development of integrated, multi-function community. Our goal is to develop a premium quality integrated community which blends traditional culture and modern development for Foshan citizens” Mr Lo said.

The planned net developable area of the project is approximately 520,000 sq.m. with a gross floor area of 1.5 million sq.m. The renowned Zumiao Donghua Lane is the relic of Foshan’s historical architectures, featuring the essence of this ancient cultural hub and commercial centre. Preserving the historical culture of Zumiao and Donghua Lane, the project will rejuvenate 22 relics and other traditional architectures, and create a sufficient open area. It will be characterised by architectural structures such as Lingnan-style Qilous (Lingnan-style balconies), Guo Er-shape gables, tile ridges, engraved eaves, serpentine streets and lanes and other features. The western part of Foshan Lingnan Tiandi is planned for Grade-A office buildings and hotel and exhibition facilities which will be developed into Foshan’s top business centre. The eastern part will be a luxurious residential area equipped with F&B, entertainment and recreation facilities.

KIC Village Phase 2 has been AAA Pre-certified for the Performance of its Residential Buildings

KIC Village Phase 2 invested and built by Shui On Land earlier passed the national Grade-AAA precertification of the performance of residential buildings, becoming one of the first batch of projects to pass this test based on the Technical Standard for Performance Assessment of Residential Buildings, which took effect in the Chinese Mainland in 2006. Experts agree in unison that KIC Village Phase 2 has performed excellently in five aspects: applicability, safety, durability, environment and economy, and the successful experiment of its precast façade has enabled Shui On Land to outperform industry counterparts and advanced the development of residential buildings market. Through taking the test, the company has participated in the compilation of the country’s Technical Specification for Precast Concrete Buildings.

Mr. Louis Wong, Managing Director of Shui On Land is pleased with and proud of KIC Village Phase 2 which was among the first in Shanghai passing the pre-evaluation. He said, “The passing of the authoritative AAA test confirms the quality of Shui On Land’s services and products, reassuring our leading position in the industry. Unlike other evaluations, the performance assessment is the only standard for evaluating residential buildings in the Chinese Mainland. Guided by the Center for Housing Industrialization of the Ministry of Construction, a third party assessment is carried out by construction experts of Shanghai municipal housing, land and resources administration to scientifically and fairly reflect the level of integrated performance of residential buildings. Projects that pass the pre-evaluation are excellent in terms of the quality of their residential units. We will benchmark with this result and build more high quality and environmentally friendly houses for society.”
