"2007 Shanghai Entrepreneurship Week", a first-of-its-kind initiative in China to spotlight college students' entrepreneurship and its practice, rounded off in the Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) on Nov. 11. It was initiated by Shanghai Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation for Graduates(STEFG)and co-organized by Chinese Business Network Media Co., KIC and other partners.
During the week-long event, Chairman of Shui On Group Mr. Vincent H. S. Lo, attended the "Face-to-face Communication between Entrepreneurial Pioneers and Graduate Entrepreneurs" Salon on the spot, and deeply interpreted the theme of "Innovative Shanghai, Entrepreneurial Campus" in the interview. Combined with the successful practice of KIC, he pointed that "Entrepreneurs' initial starting needs a supporting and encouraging environment. Besides the policy and capital fostering, incubators play as a crucial cradle on the start-ups' path of growth", which received impassioned response from the audience.
As one of the organizers of the Entrepreneurship Week, KIC has always been devoted to becoming an "incubator" of start-ups, introducing large amount of venture capital, establishing entrepreneurship foundation as well as fostering and guiding the start-ups while attracting their entry into KIC. KIC engaging in creating a soft entrepreneurial environment is becoming a cradle for start-ups.
The success holding of 2007 Shanghai Entrepreneurship Week activity has laid a good foundation for the periodic entrepreneurship grand events for university students nationwide in the future. It is reported that under the active promotion of KIC and the concerted efforts of all walks of life, STEFG will formally host "2008 Global Entrepreneurship Week" in China.
