Shui On Land and China Telecom Shanghai Company Strategic Cooperation Established

On 28th August, Shui On Land Limited and China Telecom Shanghai Company signed the memorandum of understanding and joined hands in creating a digital living community with life-oriented technology in Shanghai. The two parties would discuss how to provide advanced technology for the whole community and to construct a uniform platform of using the technology so as to contribute to Shanghai municipality's strategy of scientific development.

Mr. Vincent H. S. Lo, chairman and CEO of Shui On Land commented that, "The strategic cooperation between Shui On Land and China Telecom Shanghai, the biggest telecom operator in Shanghai, shows a new direction for the development of technology to be life oriented. The cooperation is conducive to the development of the city's "knowledge economy", consequently improving the overall competitiveness of the city. We would like to promote the development of the "knowledge community" through the increasing use of technology by the whole community, and at the same time, set a new model and standard for the integrated community development of China."

According to the MOU signed by the two parties, Shui On Land and China Telecom Shanghai Company will first carry out a series of applied technology in the Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) for a trial on how to realize the life-oriented technology. This is for the purpose of accelerating the KIC in becoming an innovated knowledge community where knowledge workers can share their information, exchange ideas, discuss cooperation and enjoy a better life.

The World Gets Changed by One Degree on Office Causal Day

Organized by Shui On Seagull Club, Shui On Plaza Property Management Office, Shanghai Communist Youth League Luwan District Committee and the Shanghai Green Oasis Ecological Conservation and Communication Center, the environmental protection activity named "One Degree Changes the World—Dress Down Day" was held on 30th August at Shui On Plaza.

On that day, the participating companies all set their air-conditioners’ temperatures one degree higher and encouraged their staff to wear in casual dress to work. While in the lobby, volunteers were handing out environmental friendly supplies to and exchanging ideas with the white-collars, hoping to contribute to the work of environmental protection through transmitting the idea more extensively.

The global warming has been a problem universally acknowledged and has gained great attentions from more and more people. It is highly expected that the events like "One Degree Changes the World—Dress Down Day" can be carried out in more office buildings, hotels and shopping malls, etc.. Let's keep the idea in mind and form the habit of environmental protection so as to build our green life.
