Shui On Donates RMB 10 Million to Set Up Citizenship Development Program for Youth in Wuhan

12 December 2006 - Wuhan Shui On Tiandi Property Development Company Limited (Wuhan Shui On Tiandi), has donated RMB 10 million to the Youth and Children's Palace of Wuhan in support of the Hubei provincial capital's establishment of its Youth Character-Building Development Program.

The Wuhan Youth Character-Building Development Program aims to raise the overall caliber of youth in the city, by building their innovative capabilities, harnessing their creative strengths and thus contributing to talent development for the country. A donation ceremony was held at the Sales Centre of Wuhan Tiandi, hosted by Shui On Land's Chairman & CEO Mr. Vincent Lo and Managing Director, Project Management Mr. Louis Wong, and graced by Wuhan's Mayor Mr. Li Xiansheng, Deputy Mayor Mr. Yin Weizhen, Mayor Assistant Mr. Wan Yong, the leaders of related bureaus and offices under the Government of Wuhan, as well as the leaders of the Government of Jiang'an District, Wuhan.

"The RMB 10 million is a drop in the ocean compared to the need in Wuhan for education," said Mr. Vincent Lo at the ceremony, "but we hope that the donation can be used to benefit the projects of the Youth and Children's Palace of Wuhan directly, and draw people's attention to the youth education." On behalf of the Municipal Committee and the People's Government of Wuhan, Wuhan Mayor Assistant Mr. Wan Yong, extended thanks to Shui On Land for their active participation in Wuhan's development, and aiding in education and social progress. Director Mr. Zhang Qijun of the Youth and Children's Palace accepted the RMB10 million cheque from Mr. Louis Wong.
