Shui On Group named Contributing Enterprise for "Value-adding to Chinese cities"
The 7th China International Real Estate & Archi-tech Fair (CIHAF) held last month announced the "Promoting Urbanization in China" Awards. Shui On Group (SOG) was named one of the 10 Contributing Enterprises for "Value-adding to Chinese Cities" because of its Shanghai Xintiandi project.
The award aims to award enterprises for their contribution to the urbanization of China. Since 1999, SOG has spent RMB 14 billion on the restoration of historical Shanghai "Shikumen" buildings by preserving its walls, tiles and facade, and introducing modern elements to cater for the lifestyle of the 21st century. This resulted in the internationally re-known Shanghai Xintiandi.
"Promoting Urbanization in China" Award was jointly organized by CIHAF, sina.com, "Oriental Forum" and the media. Ten contributing enterprises were selected through a public poll and panel evaluation.
