25 October 2005, Chongqing Shui On Tiandi Property Development Company Limited (Chongqing Shui On Tiandi), a subsidiary of Shui On Land Limited, donates RMB10 million to Chongqing Municipality to support the development of local medical service. Founded in 2004, Shui On Land is the flagship property company consolidating prime developments of the Shui On Group in the Chinese Mainland. Shui On Group, founded by its chairman Mr. Vincent Lo in Hong Kong in 1971, is a diversified group engaged in property development, construction and construction materials in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. Shui On has been actively participating in the economic development of Chongqing. With its major investment in Chongqing, Shui On endeavors to contribute to the Municipality's development.

A donation ceremony was held at the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipality. Shui On Land's Chairman Mr. Vincent Lo, Vice Chairman Mr. Wilfred Wong and Managing Director Mr. Louis Wong, as well as Chongqing's First Deputy Mayor Mr. Huang Qifan, Deputy Mayor Mr. Xie Xiaojun, Deputy Director of the General Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government Mr. Yan Xiaoguang, and leaders of the Chongqing Municipal Health Bureau attended the ceremony. Mr. Cui Jian, Deputy Secretary-general of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, officiated the ceremony.

"The RMB 10 million is but a drop in the ocean compared to the needs in Chongqing," said Mr. Vincent Lo at the ceremony."We hope that the donation will draw people's attention to the medical needs of the underprivileged communities."On behalf of the Municipal Committee and the People's Government of Chongqing, Deputy Mayor Xie Xiaojun extended thanks to Shui On Group for their active participation in Chongqing's development, support in medical services and care for the people of Chongqing. The Municipal Committee and the People's Government of Chongqing have decided to set up the Emergency Medical Relief Fund with Shui On's donation to help those who suffer from accidents or acute illnesses but cannot afford the medical expenses. The Fund applies to not only Chongqing citizens but also temporary residents and visitors. First Deputy Mayor Huang Qifan received the RMB10 million cheque from Mr. Vincent Lo and granted a certificate of donation to Chongqing Shui On Tiandi Property Development Company.

Chongqing Municipality Emergency Medical Relief Fund will be managed by Chongqing Municipal Health Bureau. The Bureau has drafted the Articles of Association of Chongqing Municipality Emergency Medical Relief Fund and Regulations on Chongqing Municipality Emergency Medical Relief Fund to practice proper fund management.
