The '2005 Most Popular Properties of Shanghai Award', held in June, was themed 'Leading the Way for an International Metropolis'. After three weeks of screening and voting by experts and Shanghai residents, Shui On Land's Lakeville and Phase 2 of Rui Hong Xin Cheng received the 'Special Award of Most Popular Properties' and 'Golden Award of Most Popular Properties' respectively.
While Xintiandi integrates new with old, the luxurious Lakeville features green garden space, practical floor plans and multifunctional clubhouses. Phase 2 of Rui Hong Xin Cheng offers 17,000 sq.m. of integrated community green space and 13,000 sq.m. of central courtyard surrounded by a 30,000 sq.m. mega-community shopping center that provides customers with incomparable facilities and quality living.
These awards honoured a variety of properties, priced at an average of RMB 5000/sq.m. with the highest price hitting RMB 30,000/sq.m.. A total of 33 properties were given awards, thus becoming new models of the real estate market in Shanghai.
