Rui Hong Xin Cheng (Rainbow City) is an integrated residential redevelopment project targeting the emerging upper-middle class community in Shanghai.
Rainbow City transforms old neighbourhoods into an upper-middle class community complete with full modern amenities. It is conveniently located in Hongkou District, a short journey away from the Bund, several leading universities and the central business district and is served by Linping Road Station of Metro Line 4 located under Phase 2.
Upon completion, it will comprise phased development of 90 high-rise residential buildings, shopping centres, clubhouses, schools and other modern facilities. It will also provide 12,000 residential units, Garden culture and environment, fountains and open areas covering 35% of the total site. The project will have a planned gross floor area of 1.5 million sq.m.
With a site area of 42,000 sq.m., Phase 1 features 10 high-rise residential buildings, a clubhouse, a kindergarten, as well as an "E-learning Community Network Education Platform". Occupying a site area of approximately 45,000 sq.m., the 13 residential buildings of Phase 2 provide a total of 1,762 units and is served by Linping Road Station of Metro Line 4. The commercial centre "Rainbow City Lifestyle Mall" of Phase 2 was built above the metro station with a gross floor area of 32,000 sq.m.
