Situated in the heart of downtown Shanghai, Shanghai Xintiandi is the first large-scale city-core redevelopment project by Shui On Land. Xintiandi means New Heaven and Earth in Chinese, a unique environment enabling life enrichment of "Live-Work-Play". It is just one block south of the prestigious Huai Hai Zhong Road and its metro station at Huangpi Nan Road.
Shanghai Xintiandi echoes a post-modern "the rendezvous of yesterday and tomorrow" design concept, preserving early 20th century Shikumen buildings in a modern setting. Benjamin Wood (Wood & Zapata Inc.) was the Design Consultant. The North Block of Shanghai Xintiandi won the 2003 Award for Excellence from the US-based Urban Land Institute and is the first project in the Chinese Mainland to receive this international award.
This internationally acclaimed restoration area, which covers a total gross floor area of approximately 57,000 sq.m., houses some of Shanghai's top restaurants, bars, shops and boutiques. Shui On Land has also set up its own hotel, restaurant, clubhouses and gift shop at Shanghai Xintiandi, all of which reflect the Company's dedication to excellence and service.
Xintiandi Style Shopping Center is the 3rd phase of Shanghai Xintiandi. Xintiandi Style introduces the latest goods and top fashion from all over the world, focusing on designers new to China. It aims at providing a platform to nurture Chinese designers and allow them to communicate with world-class international designers. Xintiandi Style is considered as Shanghai’s “new landmark” - replete with fashionable glamour and modern elegance.
