Several projects kick off


Super high-rise project in Chongqing Tiandi commences

On 29 October, it signified the commencement of the super high rise Chongqing Tiandi International Commerce Centre construction.

This complex with its iconic building measuring over 440 metres in height, will become the tallest building in Western China. Standing alongside Jialing River, it will represent a new landmark for Chongqing City. The complex is composed of three towers and a podium, with a floor area of 680,000 square metres comprising of a super Grade-A office building, a super five-star hotel, a high-end shopping centre and an outdoor leisure belt along Bing Jiang Avenue. It aims to become an international-standard business and commercial centre and is scheduled to be completed by 2015 with an investment of approximately RMB8 billion. Chongqing Tiandi’s man-made lake and wetland park were also launched concurrently. With a site area of 27.34 hectares, this park will be the biggest ecological green belt within the city.

The Wuhan Tiandi Corporate Zone commencement ceremony

On 9 October, construction officially started at the Wuhan Tiandi Corporate Zone, Wuhan’s riverside commercial district.

The project includes one super-high-rise and three high-rise buildings. Upon completion, it will be the well-equipped business area at the heart of the city, comprising Grade A office buildings, a five-star hotel and high-end commercial space, with a total GFA of approximately 500,000 square metres. The first phase consists of a 22-storey, 100-metre high Grade A office building. With a GFA of close to 60,000 square metres, the building will include commercial and office space and is slated for completion in 2010. The 72-floor, 320-metre high super-high-rise building, with a GFA of approximately 220,000 square metres, will consist of a super five-star hotel and high-end commercial and office space.

Groundbreaking ceremony for Foshan Lingnan Tiandi Phase 1

On 8 October, the Company held a groundbreaking-cum-government land transfer ceremony for Foshan Lingnan Tiandi Phase 1.

Foshan Lingnan Tiandi Phase 1 will be a large-scale, mixed-use city-core development, combining traditional culture and modern lifestyle. The project uniquely integrates the themes of culture, tourism, commerce and leisure. It embodies an innovative approach in preserving and promoting the deep-rooted Lingnan culture in Foshan. Commercial streets, five-star hotels and low-rise residential complexes will be strategically assimilated in the masterplan. Phase I of the project will yield a total GFA of about 175,700 square metres. Its hotels and commercial sections are expected to commence their operations in 2010, prior to the East Asian Games in Guangzhou in the same year.
