 Community Initiatives: Shui On Land has led a number of community initiatives focused on charity, education and culture. The company believes in contributing to society and being a responsible corporate citizen.

Sponsoring Education——Shui On Land believes that human resources are the most important asset of our company and of society.

* The Shui On Land-Fudan Overseas Exchange Scholarship was set up to help strengthen Fudan University's cooperation with prominent universities abroad. Over the next five years (2005-2010), Shui On Land will commit RMB 500,000 each year (RMB 2.5 million in total) to fund students studying overseas.

Participating in Charity——Shui On Land endeavours to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate in the community.

* "Our Love under the Blue Sky" is an annual charity event in Shanghai organized by the Shanghai Charity Foundation and the Municipal Ethical and Cultural Office. Money raised provides timely medical assistance for children suffering from cataract and congenital heart diseases as well as deaf-and-dumb children. At the 10th annual event in January 2004, Shui On Group and Shui On Land donated RMB 20 million to the cause.

* Shui On Land supports the "China Red Ribbon Foundation", which was jointly initiated by the All China Federation of Industry and Commerce and over 30 private entrepreneurs. In June 2004, Shui On Land committed RMB 400,000 per year over the next ten years (RMB 4 million in total) as part of our long-term commitment to charitable activities in China. The funds will be used for HIV/AIDS-related medical treatment, prevention, research and development.

Supporting Cultural Development——Shui On Land believes that cultural pursuits should be encouraged and passed on from generation to generation.

* Shui On Land, together with China Foreign Languages Publishing and Distribution Administration and Wen Wei Po in Hong Kong, published the book «The Story of the Reform and Opening-up in China» in September 2004. Boasting informative statistics and 100 true stories, the book sheds light on the achievements of China over the past 25 years since the adoption the reform and opening-up policies from eight perspectives including nation, economy, the urban and rural areas, people, family, life and culture.
