SOL wins two accolades for second year running

The Company received the “5th Corporate Governance Asia Recognition Awards” presented by “Corporate Governance Asia” magazine and “Outstanding China Property Award 2009” by “Hong Kong Economic Digest” magazine on 26 June. This was the second year running that the Company received these two awards. These accolades demonstrate our continuous effort and professional practices in corporate governance and excellence etc. “Outstanding China Property Awards” aims to not only recognise the outstanding performance of Hong Kong-listed Mainland property developers, but also pay tribute to their contributions to the community. Mr. Daniel Wan and Mr. Freddy Lee represented the Company to receive the awards respectively.

The Company is committed to maintaining a high standard of corporate governance. Audit Committee members, Professor Gary Biddle, Dr. Edgar Cheng and Dr. Roger McCarthy, visited Foshan Lingnan Tiandi on 5 June to better understand the plans, risks and progress of the project.


SOL brand building advertising and project logo design clinch international awards

SOL’s latest Brand Ad Collection and Foshan Lingnan Tiandi logo have recently won the Astrid Awards 2009, an international renowned scheme to recognise outstanding achievement of creativity, craftsmanship, and originality in graphic and print design.

The ad collection which includes the “Image” and “Chinese Characters” series was granted the Honours Award (Advertisement Print Category). The Image series adopted “Achieving”, “Creating”, “Building” and “Sustaining” as themes to represent SOL’s core value in doing business. The Chinese Characters series used Chinese characters and “human” to present SOL’s commitment in “Ownership”, “Integrity”, “Creating Value”, “Sustainability”, “Preservation” and “Lifestyle”.

The Foshan Project logo winning the Silver Award (Graphic Design Category) represents two persons dancing with a ribbon, which also forms the shape of Lingnan’s distinctive architectural structure “Guo Er”, to celebrate life-enrichment of “Live-Work-Play”. The logo embodies the spirit of dynamic and happiness SOL brings to the community via the project.


2009 Annual General Meeting

2009 Shui On Land Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on 4 June. Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Mr. Vincent Lo and three Managing Directors shared with the shareholders at the “Networking with Shareholders” session held after the AGM our latest initiatives and development strategies to enhance mutual communications and corporate transparency. The Management met with media subsequently to talk about the Company's development.


Strategic procurement agreement signed

Mr. Louis Wong, Managing Director Project Management, represented the Company to sign the strategic procurement agreements on 11 June with six suppliers of doors, floors and elevators etc which embark close collaborations in our residential projects for the next two years. The Company carries out green policies, the high quality materials and products provided by these strategic partners are also required to meet our sustainable development standards in both their production and application aspects.


Debut joint charity walk in five cities draws thousand supporters

The 2009 Charity Walk organised by Seagull Club kicked off simultaneously in five cities including Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Wuhan and Foshan on 13 June with about 500 participants. The Management also gave their great support by joining the Walk. A total of RMB114,800 was raised (as of 15 June) among some 1,800 colleagues and their relatives. The proceeds will be donated to repair classrooms and playgrounds, purchase books, instruments, assist children with leukemia and orphans in impoverished areas.
